The problem I have is that I don't want people to use a . or , as a separator for thousands. I want them to write 4000 instead of 4,000 or 4.000. It messes up the automatic calculation that turns this into '4'. How can I do this?
Hi Judy, Thanks for pointing this out. We’re currently looking into this internally, in the meantime, we can suggest a workaround. I assume the currency field is currently set as an input field of type Number. In that case, you can transform it into a Calculated field (Number). Here’s how it works: Inside your form, create a Calculated field (Number). Set its initial value to reference the original price field. Then, in your email notification, instead of mentioning the original Number field, mention the Calculated field. This way, the value will appear with the correct formatting (for example 5.50 instead of 5.5). In any case, we’re reviewing this formatting difference internally. If you run into any issues setting this up, feel free to reach out to our support team at: https://support.tally.so/support
That would be a great feature
Hey Luthfi— thanks a ton for the feature request and for being a Tally user! We love hearing from you.
Thanks a lot for the suggestion, Will 🙌 We really appreciate you taking the time to share this idea!
Hi Robin S., thanks for this request! I've merged it with a similar one. I'd be interested to see the logic you built, could you share it here or on Tally support (tally.so/support)? Thanks!
Frederik Simoen Hi Frederik! Since I couldn't upload the video here (because of the 8MB upload limit), I've uploaded the video to a website. Here's the logic I built as a workaround: https://robbie.tixte.co/Tally_logic_demonstration.mp4
Robin S.: Thanks for sharing! I was hoping you found a more efficient solutions than this one, but happy you found it and it clearly works for you. :-) While I can't make any promises about if or when it might be implemented, rest assured that you'll see updates here if anything changes. Thanks again for your contribution!
Frederik Simoen I actually really enjoyed building it! Wouldn't have been as enjoyable with Google Forms. I'm glad I could help you!
Rounding to a whole number would be really helpful to me. I made a form to calculate estimates based on the user input. I need the numbers to be whole numbers once they are calculated.
I want to upvote this feature request too!
