two-column and multi-column drag-and-drop: no...
I’ve seen other users mention problems with the two-column and multi-column drag-and-drop functionality as well, and I actually cancelled my subscription once because of this.
There isn’t much point in offering a flexible drag-and-drop layout if it doesn’t work reliably. The idea that users will “just get used to it” is a pretty disappointing approach.
Jotform, for example, handles this in a much simpler and more intuitive way. You can set a field to Long or Short: if it’s Short, another short field can automatically sit next to it; if it’s Long, it takes up the full width. It’s cheaper, clearer, and much easier to use.
With the current drag-and-drop approach, it feels like you’re expected to keep dragging things around until you eventually get used to how it behaves. Maybe someone who works with it every day can get used to it, but that doesn’t make it good UX.
A drag-and-drop editor should feel intuitive from the beginning, not require users to learn its quirks and work around unreliable behavior.
