Table Input (with File Upload, etc.)

Hi Tally team, I love using Tally and I think a feature that would be super useful for many of us is a table-style input field. The idea is that respondents could add multiple rows in a structured table, with each row allowing: Text input (e.g., product name, description, SKU), Numbers (e.g., price, quantity), Image/file upload (e.g., product photo). Currently, we can only add separate fields, which becomes messy for bulk-style submissions. Having a dynamic table with row-by-row uploads would make Tally far more powerful for use cases like e-commerce, research, and creative projects. Thanks a lot for considering!

If we would ever change to Tally Forms, we would need this feature and probably even more advanced than just a table. For example, we want people to add info for all their family members. Now there's no proper way to do this (you could deduplicate all fields into Name1, Name2, NameN fields, but I don't consider that a proper way). Ideally you can add a section in a form saying, for example, "Family members", with a + button, and users can add sub-records. Technically you could consider these child records as separate forms, as in our case we really need a pop-up/expanded section/... for every family member where users can fill 10+ fields and can attach files that belong to those specific records. This could also apply to adding products to an offer request form, etc.

Tally is great to use and this really is a key feature that would add even more value. It is important to have the option to type text, numbers and even images or links in the table/matrix cells. Looking forward to this becoming available. Thanks

Hey Malau! Not sure if we understood your question fully — could you clarify what kind of tables you’re looking to insert? In the meantime, you might want to check out our Matrix block, which works like a table where respondents can select answers across rows and columns. Here’s the guide: https://tally.so/help/matrix 🙌

Hi Tally team, I’d love to see a feature that allows inserting a table within a form section. For example, in an "Education" section, I want users to be able to fill out a table with multiple rows where each row represents a different school they've attended. The columns would be fixed questions like: - School Name - Start Year - End Year - Qualification Achieved Users would then input their answers row by row under each column. This would make it much easier to collect structured data for repeating entries like education history, work experience, etc. Is this something that could be supported in future updates? Thanks for the great work!

Hi Zayne Fraser, Thanks for posting your feature request! Is it possible to share with us what metrics you're referring to? Is it metrics from the submissions or data from external sources, etc. - let us know.

Yes, like a table input that users can fill. So useful & easy for users entering data, while keeping the ui & ux simple. For integrations, it could go into related tables / sheets. If we want to go crazy, we can even have all the current input types in each cell of this table!
