Sub-Form

Hi, I am still a newcomer in Tally and have not explored much. I am still trying to find which suits my small consultation business needs. I stumbled upon Fillout previously and have been playing around with their customization. One thing I tried from them is the sub-form feature. I havent understood it myself. But basically you can attach a form to another form, making it obligatory to fill. The form can also be used as a stand-alone.For additional context, I am a health practitioner. Sometimes I make a screening consists of several sub-scales.  Sometimes I need them all, sometimes I just need the subscale. Ive been trying to find whether this feature is already available, but I can't find any. It might be under different terms, but yeah, would be nice if this kind of feature also exists in Tally.

Hi Silih! Great question — and totally understand your use case 😊 At the moment, Tally doesn’t have a native “sub-form” feature like the one you described. However, there are a few ways to achieve a similar result depending on your setup: 🔹 Option 1: Conditional logic (recommended) You can group your “sub-scales” into sections and then show or hide entire blocks based on previous answers. For example: Show a specific section only if a certain answer is selected Or only display additional parts if earlier questions are completed You can check this guide for more details: https://tally.so/help/conditional-form-logic 🔹 Option 2: Link forms together Another approach is to connect multiple forms using redirect on completion. After submitting one form, you can redirect users to another form This can also be done conditionally depending on their answers More info here: https://tally.so/help/redirect-on-completion Since your use case is quite specific (especially with health screenings and sub-scales), feel free to reach out to us at tally.so/support with more details — we’d be happy to help you set this up step by step. If you have any other questions or need further assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out!

I already did the workaround mentioned with my Google Form. I am also familiar with conditional logic and that is not what I am looking for. With sub form, we can cut down the need to continuously ask for name, age, and sex of the responder. Another feature that is well executed in Fillout is that it is able to show the completed progress of these subscales, which is neat for the respondent.
