Hi, thank you so much! This seems not working or maybe I missed something. If a guests into "Refreshment" Matrix would like 1 Espresso and 1 American Coffee: he wouldn't be able to select the American if the form hides it. My request is basically about the PDF that Tally generates with the answer: it would be helpful if Tally would be able to filter only the answers given, hiding the ones not given. Thank you again for your efforts!
You're welcome! Unfortunately, you'd have to build logic that listens for those specific selections and hide accordingly(which would be alot of logic, which might not being ideal) . But I can see how we can improve that functionality to automatically hide those not selected options for the pdf in the future. As a trick/workaround, what you can do; is add bio data collection to the end of the form, so you can use an option as a trigger to hide those options that weren't selected (this requires less logic than listening for specific subsets/combos of options). See this screenshot (I used "Name" - create similar logic for):
Hi, Thanks for sharing your feedback! PDFs generated by Tally already work this way: they are an exact copy of the form as it was presented to the respondent. This means they should not include questions that weren't shown because of conditional logic. I also noticed that you included a screenshot of a Matrix block. If this is the case you're referring to, could you please send us the URL of the form you're working with? You can reply here or contact us through our support page at tally.so/support. We'll be happy to take a closer look. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything else I can assist you with.
Hi! Thank you for your prompt reply. Actually, the Matrix block is the one I refer to. Here's the link: https://tally.so/forms/5BDoYQ My aim is to let our guests select their breakfast preference through this form, and I would use "Multiple choice" block or similar, but I can't let them choose the quantity easily as I can through the Matrix block, which I currently prefer. Thank you! Michele
Hi Michele, Thanks for the additional context! I understand what you're trying to achieve. Since your use case is specifically related to the Matrix block and how it behaves in the generated PDF, could you please write to us through our support form at tally.so/support and describe your use case in as much detail as possible? Please include: What you're trying to achieve with the Matrix block. What you expect the PDF to look like. What the PDF currently looks like instead. That will make it much easier for our support team to investigate your specific scenario and determine whether there's a workaround or if this is something we should improve. Please feel free to reach out if there is anything else I can assist you with.
Hi again team, After checking again, you should be able to achieve your use case by hiding the irrelevant options with conditional logic (see attached screenshots). Here's an article (https://tally.so/help/conditional-form-logic#3eb10646571b4c5…) that can help with building that type of logic and feel free to use our AI builder in the bottom-right.
