Embed Fillable PDFs

The current PDF embed points to a source file hosted on our server/Google Drive, etc. That means respondents will see that one same file that we hosted. This works if the PDF contains view-only information. However, the challenge comes when we try to embed fillable PDFs. Since the embed points to the same source, this means that after the PDF that we hosted is filled with the first respondent's inputs and when the second responded sees the embedded PDF, they will see the first respondent's information instead of a fresh blank PDF. We can't use tools like PDF Monkey for this use case as PDF Monkey takes the form inputs from Tally and populate them into a PDF that we design ourselves using HTML instead of an existing fillable PDF. How we can ideally make the embed PDF feature better is that Tally hosts our uploaded PDF. Every time a respondent opens a link, the PDF itself is embedded into the online form instead of pointing to a server. This is how every respondent can see a fresh version of the PDF every time the Tally form is opened. Hope this feature request gets noticed! I'm available for further discussion if needed.

Thank you Tally team for the attention to this request. Yes, the PDF generation feature is a great help in improving UX for our clients and I thank you for that! The fillable PDF use case is more for compliance forms. For example, employee tax forms in our country where we need each new employee to fill up according to the PDF form prescribed by our tax authority to sign in addition to other questionnaires we have for them as part of the onboarding process. I certainly appreciate you taking this request into consideration. Hope to see this feature come to live one day! Thank you.

Thanks for taking the time to share this detailed use case! At the moment, it's not possible to fill out an embedded PDF directly within Tally while ensuring each respondent gets their own fresh, isolated copy. As a possible alternative, you may want to take a look at our PDF generation feature: https://tally.so/help/create-a-pdf-from-form-responses This allows you to turn form submissions into PDF files based on the data respondents enter in your form. While we understand this doesn't cover every use case—especially when you already have an existing fillable PDF you'd like to embed—it can be a helpful workaround in scenarios where the goal is to generate a completed PDF from form responses. We'll take your suggestion into account. Thanks again for explaining the use case so clearly, and we appreciate you sharing your ideas on how the feature could be improved.
