Yes, this would be a great feature. We are creating multiple HR forms (20+). Each form has a dropdown to select their team. When there is a change to the team name, we need to update all 20+ forms and will be very difficult.
Hi there, Thanks for using Tally and for sharing your feature request, Tom! We really appreciate you taking the time. ✌️ Seems like you'd want ability to pull data from Notion databases via their API. I saw a similar, but more generic, request here: https://feedback.tally.so/board/p/external-database-integrat… Meanwhile - if you have a developer on staff, you will find our Developer resources helpful for this use case; https://tally.so/help/developer-resources Feel free to get back to us, if you have anything further to share in regard to this request.
Thanks for using Tally and for sharing your feature request, We really appreciate you taking the time.
Hi Karen, Thanks so much for your message! Tally already supports referencing answers to previous questions using Answer Piping (the @____ feature). You can check out the full guide here: https://tally.so/help/answer-piping However, what you’re describing — using those piped answers dynamically in a Ranking block — isn’t possible yet. The Ranking block is currently static, meaning the options can’t be generated based on earlier user inputs. That said, this is a great idea, and we’ve noted your suggestion for dynamic ranking in future updates. In the meantime, here’s more about how Ranking works: https://tally.so/help/ranking
Thanks for the suggestion, Dominik! At the moment, it's not possible to dynamically populate options in a select, multiselect, or dropdown field via hidden fields or URL parameters. But we totally get the use case, and it’s a really interesting idea — we’ve noted it down as a feature request. Thanks again for sharing it with us!
Thanks for the thoughtful suggestion, Tom! we’ve noted it down as a feature request. 🙌
Thanks a lot for your suggestion, Kat 🙌 We’ll keep this in mind for future improvements.
Hi Chad — thanks for the suggestion! At the moment, Tally doesn’t support dynamically feeding data from an external API into forms. We'll take your request into account for further improvements The closest option today is using prefill via query parameters or hidden fields, so you can pass data into the form URL and display it to the respondent. Here’s the guide: 👉 https://tally.so/help/prefill-your-form We’ll keep your idea in mind, and if you’d like to explore workarounds, feel free to reach out to our support team: https://tally.so/support ✌
Thanks for the suggestion, Rich! At the moment, we don’t support dynamically adding days to a date on the form — it would have to be set manually. But we appreciate the idea and we’ll keep it in mind! ✌
Thanks for the suggestion, Carrie! Other users have asked for similar date restrictions, so we’ll definitely keep this in mind. 🙌
Also a possibility to map two field of the tally form in the same notion property (because with conditionnal logic we can fill out different input) Thank's !
Thanks a ton for the thoughtful feature request and for being a Tally user, Zolo! 🙌 Both dynamic date calculations (like “today + 14 days”) and the ability to disable specific dates or ranges are excellent suggestions — we’ve seen interest in similar improvements for booking workflows, and your use case highlights their value perfectly. We’ve logged your feedback, and we’ll keep it in mind as we continue improving Tally’s calendar capabilities. Much appreciated!
I just started using Tally today and found I could not populate a list of options for a field programmatically. It would be very, very helpful to be able to have a property for selection options that could be pointed to field from a connection or some way to do a lookup through a connection. Support for Relation fields in Notion (reference to a field in another table) would also be great. I attempted many workaround without much success. A map to a relation field could populate the lookup and the user selecting a value could be saved to the table.
Allan Dumaine: you might find a solution for those questions here: - create a dynamic dropdown (with a custom-made make module): https://tally.so/help/dropdown#42feaf50611f47e7b8949efeb3c9e… - use the relation property in notion (also through make.com): https://tally.so/help/notion-integration#8d79a572ec434e9e8a2…
Would absolutely LOVE this feature! If this is deployed, I wouldn't have to migrate to fillout
I want a filter where data will be taken from another form's one of a field which got submitted.
so much needed!
That would be an amazing feature !
Hi lai ming, we don't support it out of the box right now unfortunately, but are planning to implement it in the future. I don't have an ETA yet, but will keep you posted!
Hello ÉQUIPE GROS BECS Thanks for sharing this idea. As a workaround, you can follow this tutorial to do it: https://tally.so/help/dropdown#15e9960ed5674848ac5655d271449…
Hello Alessandro Rigodanzo, Thanks for your request :) As a workaround you can create an automation with Make to do that. You can find a tutorial here: https://tally.so/help/dropdown#15e9960ed5674848ac5655d271449…
Jonathan: Thank you! I'll try it :D
Hi Josh Rickert & Tech Team, This is not directly possible within Tally, however there is a good workaround with Make: https://tally.so/help/dropdown#15e9960ed5674848ac5655d271449…
Jonathan: Wonderful, thanks a lot to the person who created the API shortcuts on Make!!
Big time, or from any database (eg. Airtable) That would be really powerful!
Hi, Thanks for your question! At the moment, this isn’t possible in Tally — dropdown fields (and similar inputs) use static values, so they can’t automatically pull or update options from Google Sheets or via API. That said, we really appreciate the suggestion and are continuously improving the product, so we’ll definitely take this into account.
