We encountered a bug with the current method and have reported it. If you change the form to Password or Close and then Re-open the form it changes the Stripe description to the Site Name (found in the Link Preview) even though we didn't change the form name. To have it show the right name in Stripe again, we had to rename the form to something else and then back to the name we want to show on the Stripe description.
Much appreciated, Dan! Thanks for using Tally and letting us know what you’d love to see next. ✌️
Hi Marc Tytus, Thanks for sharing this request with us. Currently, the description uses the Form title after the payments are made indeed. In addition to that, you can reference a hidden field in the form title itself, for a bit more flexibility in adjusting the description (see screenshot attached). Do note, I haven't tested if you can only add the hidden field in the title as yet (let us know the outcome if you do try it). Feel free to reach out back to us on any updates.
Please make this happen, form description is too vague. Let us control what to pass onto Stripe.
It would be good if we can specify the description for the Stripe reference that is independent of the form name. To keep our forms tidy in the left nav, we might use abbreviations or condense the form name for internal users. But on the Stripe payment we want it clearly spelled out. Plus there's a risk someone renames the form not realizing it affects the Stripe payment description. And if we have Workflows in Stripe to add metatags then there's a potential ripple effect if a Form name is accidentally changed.
