Autofill Support for Form Fields (Browser/Mobile Autocomplete)
Current state:
Currently, Tally only offers generic text input types such as "Short answer" and "Long answer." These fields don't trigger the native autofill suggestions that browsers and mobile devices normally provide for personal information.
Feature request:
It would be great if Tally form fields could support standard browser/mobile autofill, similar to how most websites handle input fields (e.g., using HTML autocomplete attributes like given-name, family-name, tel, street-address, email, etc.).
This would allow users' browsers or phones to automatically suggest and fill in personal information such as:
First name
Last name
Phone number
Address
Email
Why this matters:
Faster form completion for respondents
Fewer typos and input errors
Better UX, especially on mobile devices
Brings Tally forms in line with standard web form behavior
Suggested implementation:
Add a field-type or field-setting option where users can tag a "Short answer" field with a specific autofill category (e.g., "First Name," "Last Name," "Phone," "Address"), which Tally would then map to the correct autocomplete attribute behind the scenes.
